After Clicking Here, scroll down for Important info! In addition to our 'Just be Nice' plan that sums up our behavior policy here at Valley Home School District, we are joining forces to promote a new program being implemented across Stanislaus County and beyond, by taking to heart the book - 'Choose Civility.' For more information on this program, please go to the Stanislaus County Office of Education website at http://www.stancoe.org/civility/ I encourage you to watch the brief 'Man on the Street' interview video on the home page of the site! KAHN ACADEMY We are excited to include a link to our website (click the Technology tab just under the picture above to the right, click on Computer Lab, scroll down to the middle of the second to last row, click 'Khan Academy'). There you can scroll down to find over 2,100 video lessons from beginning to advanced to help both students (and parents!) who are struggling with particular concepts, and also, students who want to explore beyond their current classroom lessons. The search engine at the top right of the Kahn website is very helpful at targeting a specific lesson or concept. Happy exploring! SCHOOL EVENTS Aside from the FULL CALENDAR button located to the right; For a single-page all-year calendar of Valley Home School events, check out the Year-At-A Glance calendar under the ‘Other Calendars’ tab located above; For a detailed account of current events planned at Valley Home School, check out ‘ Mrs. Higgins Calendar,’ also under the ‘Other Calendars’ tab located above. LANDSCAPING PROJECT As you may know, Valley Home School community members have been engaged in improving the landscaping at the north campus. We have just instaled a new cement walkway and mowstrips at a very low cost (looks great; thanks to the key people who made it happen!), but we still have more to do. We will be sharing information periodically in order to communicate when landscaping activities will occur so you green thumbs out there can get involved. We will gratefully receive donations to help with costs. Also, if anyone knows of a source for sod, plants, trees, etc., Please let us know at 847-0117.
THANK YOU I want to thank the Valley Home staff,
students and community for the warm welcome as I transition into my new
position as Superintendent/Principal of Valley Home Joint School District. I have had the opportunity to meet all of the
students and staff and, many community members.
Valley Home is proud of their culture of being warm and friendly where
our teachers are dedicated and caring; who work together to create the best
possible learning environment for our students.
All of our teachers have high expectations and all staff gets to know each
student and family personally.
It’s not only our staff who
cares, in our close-knit educational family, many involved parents volunteer in
the classrooms that enhance the curriculum and sponsor other school activities. These parents represent our community’s deep
commitment to making our schools as safe, productive, happy and healthy as
possible. Sincerely, Rolanda Desrosiers-Lewis Superintendent/Principal Valley Home Joint School District
